A conductor, organist, composer, and public leader, Edward Eicker is especially known for his choral, organ, and piano works. With over 100 titles in print, his music has been widely performed throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Eicker is known for his rich harmonic language, beautiful melodies and creative choral and keyboard writing.
Eicker has received numerous awards, commissions and honors. In 2006, his work for strings, “A Heartland Journey,” won the 2006 Knox-Galesburg Symphony’s annual call for scores and received its premiere under the direction of Dr. Bruce Polay. Just a year later, he was named a finalist in the 2007 “Outside the Bachs” Choral Composition Contest sponsored by First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth for his choral work, “In Paradisum.” And in 2012, Eicker’s brief film score was one of 12 winners at The Indie Gathering International Film Scoring Competition.
In 2022, Eicker was appointed to the Maine Township High School District 207 Board of Education, was elected to a four-year term in 2023, and in 2024 was chosen by his board colleagues to become the board's Vice President.
Since 2009, Eicker has served as Director of Music at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge, Illinois. He lives in Des Plaines, Illinois with his wife Megan, and two sons, Austin and Owen.
